Definition:
Adytum (ad-it-um): the most sacred place within a sacred place; the inner shrine of the heart, the place inside you where you feel a sense of awe and reverence for the privilege of being alive.
“I cried because my adytum cracked. It broke within me, leaving me, to this day, with emptiness and loneliness.”
“I am stuck without a soul.”
“I felt like real life lay elsewhere for me.”
“Why can’t I move on with my life? I think I need to concentrate on living life.”
“I could feel bits of myself slipping toward that darkness every day.”

Read my book, Adytum, which will launch at Friesen Press in January 2025. In this book, I share how I came to know PTSD and how my parents learned to cope with it. I know my writing saved me from myself.
